Train with the Pros at Saddlebrook’s Junior Tennis Camp
Saddlebrook’s Junior Tennis Camp takes place at our Tampa, Florida resort. This renowned program attracts hundreds of talented junior players each year who are looking to improve their game through professional training, hard work, discipline and motivation. The camps include up to five hours of daily instruction at our award-winning tennis facility. Junior campers are welcome year-round with peak seasons during school breaks, holidays and summer months.
Saddlebrook’s junior tennis program focuses on every aspect of the game, including on- and off-court performance routines, and each camper’s technical, tactical, and mental games. There are specialized drills for consistency and accuracy as well as supervised match-play led by our professional coaching staff. Based on years of proven success with the resort’s professional players, our junior tennis program offers a unique opportunity to take each player’s game to the next level. Along with enhancing their individual play, our campers enjoy the opportunity to make new friends and enjoy social activities in a safe and supervised environment.
Whenever possible, Saddlebrook will help your camper participate in optional local United States Tennis Association (USTA) sanctioned tournaments; however, please note that tournament involvement includes additional expenses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When should I plan to arrive and depart?
A: Campers should plan to arrive early Sunday afternoon. There is a Mandatory Orientation at 4pm – so campers should be at the resort well in advance. Check-out time is noon the following Saturday.

Q: How do I arrange airport transportation?
A: We are happy to coordinate airport transports both to and from Tampa International Airport. Please note that there is an additional cost for airport transfers. Additionally, parents must fill out all travel information on the tennis program application. Your camp reservation will NOT be confirmed until transportation arrangements are made.
Q: Do the campers have roommates?
A: Saddlebrook Tennis I known around the world for our tennis program and attracts junior athletes from around the globe. The campers attending our program are housed in junior suites that accommodate up to six occupants each. This also allows our campers to meet new friends and build comradery during the camp experience. You will find a section specifically about roommate requests on your camp application. In most cases, we can satisfy these requests.

Q: Is there camper supervision?
A: Yes, Saddlebrook Resort is a secure, gated property with 24-hour security. Resident Assistants (RAs) are on duty around the clock and very young campers may either be placed in the room with an RA or in an adjoining room.
Q: What happens if a camper breaks the rules?
A: At Saddlebrook, we take the responsibility of each camper's safety very seriously, which is why we strictly enforce our rules and regulations. Saddlebrook reserves the right to remove campers and send them home without a refund should their actions break the rules, damage property, and/or endanger themselves, their peers or our resort staff.

To this end, we ask that all parents and campers thoroughly read the camp’s rules and regulations (located on our application) prior to arrival at the resort.

Q: How will campers be grouped on court?
A: To ensure the success of each athlete, our campers are grouped by their ability level. During the first few sessions, our instructions will make the proper adjustments to match campers as accurately as possible.
Q: How much spending money is needed?
A: During their time camp, our junior athletes will get to enjoy activities that will involve additional costs, such as movies, amusement parks, field trips to the mall, and/or local recreation centers. We encourage campers to arrive with a prepaid Visa or MasterCard debit card with a $150 value for each week of their stay.

Gift cards in $50 increments can also be purchased (in advance) for any of Saddlebrook’s resort outlets, including our restaurants, Tennis Pro Shop, and more.

Please note that cash advances, cashing of personal checks, and room charging are NOT allowed for our junior campers. Additionally, valuable papers such as passports, airline tickets, and cash can be kept in the safe at the Saddlebrook Tennis office. We recommend that campers do not keep cash or valuables in their rooms.

Q: What are the meals like?
A: All campers attending our tennis program will enjoy delicious meals prepared by Saddlebrook’s world-class culinary staff. The meals are served buffet-style and feature a variety of healthy and tasty options. Before arrival, please let us know about any food allergies or special dietary requests, such as kosher or vegetarian meals, and we will gladly accommodate your needs.

Q: What should the campers pack?
A: We suggest that our junior campers bring at least two racquets - stringing service is available at our Pro Shop. It’s important to pack proper, comfortable tennis shoes as we do NOT allow running shoes on any of our tennis courts. Campers should also bring several shorts and t-shirts for everyday workouts, as well as 8 - 10 pairs of socks, casual clothes for evening activities, pajamas, a bathing suit and several hats. Campers will also need personal toiletries such as any necessary prescribed medications (which campers must be responsible to manage on their own), as well as sunscreen, band-aids, and incidentals like Tylenol or Advil. Please be sure to clearly mark all personal items with the camper’s name.
Please be aware that Saddlebrook Resort is not responsible for any lost or missing articles. We highly recommend NOT bringing expensive and unnecessary items like video games or laptops.
Q. Are cell phones allow?
A: Cell phones are allowed. However, if campers abuse the privileged or use their cell phone at an inappropriate time, they will be confiscated and returned to the camper upon departure. We suggest using calling cards as an alternative option.

Q: Can a camper receive mail?
A: Yes, packages and letters will be delivered to the Saddlebrook Front Desk, who will then notify the campers. Please provide ample time for delivery to our shipping department, who will need to process the mail before sending it along to the camper. If a camper is only enrolled for a single week, letters sent via regular mail may not be received.
